READ AND VOTE: How should Players with Duped items Be handled?

I'm seeing alot of threads concerning ppl going insane about having items that are almost surely duped, whether they made them or not. I am conflicted on my answer to how to resolve the issue but I want to see, and im sure the GMs want to see, what you guys think. To throw out some points: you shouldn't buy stuff off the AH that are prob duped which includes just about any item +5 and higher and any relic +3 and higher. Its just dumb. On the otherhand a script which deletes all duped weapons would eliminate a bunch of the problems and avoid having to ban players. Also some weapons/armors were created uniquely from duped favor/iggy boxes therefore those items should be deleted w/o banning the player imho. So what do you guys think?

i'll have to say that the line between players who accidentally bought the items and players who use the excuse of accidentally buying as a way to get past the ban.

Imho the only people who'd be worried about getting banned from duped items are people who have duped stuff.
Btw, if you think you'd get banned/deleted from duped items...npc them. simple.

Keep voting addicts! Since one choice seems to be predominant atm we should prob assume alot of ppl feel that the duped items should be deleted but the players shouldnt be banned. This allows for the server pop to stay high while making it fair. The problem is dont ppl who intentionally duped deserve punishment? Or is deleting all their gear good enough?

deleting char or players will just minimize the servers stats on population, deleting the duped stuffs and putting a namelist on those people who got duped stuffs, specifically pointing on what duped stuff their bringing will surely show justice... making others aware what they hold or had possesed... well at least they can feel the shame, or if they're so called innocent or just playing INO~ then still they'll be talked about and be down...

I couldnt really comment on what course of action to take regarding this,
i do hope that all duped items are taken from the game, that also includes thous players who have cheated their way in creating + 4 +5 +6 items.

Personally ive spent i would say a few billion on the Ah buying armors and elementals.
mainly things costing in excess of 200mill. and if i suddenly found that half my gear was gone, i be ****ed. and would probably concider quiting.

So unless there is a way of checking the purchases from the Ah and maybe reinbursting the individual, i would guess alot of people would leave, and with the size of the population i would have to rethink tactics.

Who has that much money to waste? On top of that there is a difference between nice items and ones that are obviously duped items and difference should be clear, for example +4 mercy boots maybe not duped, +3 relic weapon is prob duped. Don't buy it if you don't want it deleted.

12% so far is for leaving duped items in game, therefore that leaves us to assume that 12% of the entire server spend most of their time chewing on electrical cords. A Gm should check the results of that answer, and perma-ban the 4 that answered with that, they're the ones that they know they have duped stuff, and don't want to NPC it.

I said ban everyone and let them work it out with a GM.. It's a hell of a lot easier detective work if people just rat out the tard that gave them the duped stuff.

delete the duped items,but dont delete the char..some people dont know if their items are dupe or not..the logs will tell who is the source of duped items..those are the persons who are to be banned

i voted ban then sort out with GM, it dont really need explaining, but i agree it would be far more easy.
if your not a duper, but have a duped items by mistake/not knowing, you can argue out your innocent and see if the GMs belive you,at least that way theres no stupid items that would be unfair to the ligit players. If you have a feeling that you MITE have duped item, just vendor it asap or you could be lookin at a lot of hastle.

Spam thanking is for ppl replying to this thread, it needs to be talked about. As for that first choice its not very practical since even with as many new GMs as there are, there is no good way w/o a script to start banning all the ppl that were duping and ppl who profited from dupers. The amount of work that would be created would just be way more than can be handled (assuming it takes 3-6 minutes talking to a person to sort out whether they duped or not). To be honest even though they are guilty wiping the weapons with a script and then comparing the sources of the dupes (if possible) with a script is the best possible way.

imo this poll can go 3 ways because of the dupers/softies/ban them nao people
smart dupers that dont wanna get banned and wait for a way to dupe again without look suspicious and crashing the server will pick

the softies fall under the "omg plix no ban them thats so harsh."
then the softies will also say "they had no idea it was a dupe!" just to let ya know something.... going to +5/+6 on int 55 gear is like going to +3 on a relic. rarely ever
and also if you see mass amounts of elems in the ah dont be dumb and buy them. at this point 95% of them are dupes that includes the +5/+6 int/superior 55 gears

if you see a player running around with a +4/+5 relic and they havent donated thats like going to +6/+7 on superior 55 gears. if you see a player that buys some of them elems from the masses of the ones at the ah its obviously a dupe dont be dumb and buy it... its like exploiting a bug, and if this can be resolved with a gm like "yeah i bought them from the ah im sorry if you could delete them il never buy them again" and get unbanned then i could also see this reasoning moreover than the others

soji and keni have both banned people who they thought were dupers and unbanned them when they saw they were innocent so going off of the hard facts il be going with the top option
