Connection Problem

Hi guys i just want to ask all of you if you guys also experiencing the problem i have right now. the main problem that i have is a bout the way my internet provider connects with rf server. Im not really sure if the problem has something to do with my provider or is it the local host for RF sever. Its been like weeks now since i started getting this kind of problem, i lagg like hell and if you're going to ask me yes i do lagg so bad (in literal way), i got a brand new computer with high end specs of course. the way i see it when im playing the game its like im loosing connection with the server, my character going back and forth from place to place, cant use my skills. at the end that just means 1 thing "im useless" because i cant play properly. it has come to my attention to check it out on my end because maybe its on my provider or with my computer. i did everything, scanned everything, also uninstalled and download the client again, everything went well but problem still the same.

If anyone can help me with this i will really appreciate it, because i dont wanna waste my money since i bought a new computer just to enjoy playing and also FYI im running 2mbs internet connection. i know some technical stuff to troubleshoot too and i found out that whenever i ping our website address i always get request time out for all i know this has something to do with the handshake of my connection going to our server connection. i also tried playing other Rf server which to my surprised i dont even lagg a bit. I know our Admins and GMs are doing their best, and i cant ask for more but please enlighten me with this problem. thank you BG, Soji, Keni and the rest of the GMs and more power to RFA

Most likely your ISP is "capping" or throttling your upstream speed. 2mbs downstream speed is OK but not good imo. If you download too much from certain site then your ISP will start to throttle speed to the site you connect to, in this case playing on RFA server. I assume your ISP don't want their customers to use too much of their bandwidth so they do this traffic shaping bs which causes lag/DC.

BTW what is the name of your ISP? and your location?

I think i'm having the same problem. Seems to be ok with other sites but when it comes to RFA it gets laggy. Interserver connections? The other players don't lag so it really must be something between the ISPs.

Chipwar lag can easily be attributed to poor pc performance. When your pc s killing itself loading 50+ charaters + skill animations + loot and countless otherthings, it can hamper gameplay.

But is there a possibility that the reason could be on the server itself? coz other online games seems to be running fine, no lags... and rfa before isnt this much lag..

It seems the players from the Philippines are the ones experiencing the lag regardless of their ISPs.

im currently using shawcable as my ISP here in burnaby @ onyx, i think you're right about it but it has something to do with the server too i think because as i can remember this started when the server was fixed from crashing. i hope everything will besolved may it be my side or server side, and im not the only one experiencing this lag. i already called my provider and told them they suck big time LOL.

I did the same thing LOL! But I think there really is a problem too from the RFA side. Specially for today; the lag spikes are crazy and it seems a lot of players have been experiencing this too.

I know that too, many people are experiencing the same problem that i have, but before we think if its the server problem lets try to eliminate a lot of factors from our side so, if worst comes to worst they (server side) will know if they need to make adjustments too. right now im not that motivated to play due to severe lagg and backtracking issue whenever i play, besides im busy too atte3nding trainings from my new job. i hope BG and admins can give us a heads up about this. I know in some ways it has something to do with the RAM (server box) but from my experienced when it comes to network problems the big factor of lagg has something to do with their network. lets all hope for the best so we can attain maximum satisfaction while playing the game. more power to RFA!!!

lag is super... and its not just the connection imo... cuase sometimes everyone experience it like everything would stop then after 10 secs... it would return with many people chatting "lag". so this would mean not just the phil nut something else.
